One of the activities in GET’s 2010 work programme is to establish
Innovative-Technology based PV Modules and Vertical Wind Turbines
Production Factories out of China suggested possible Countries were
Turkey, Dubai, KSA, and South Africa, to supply to MENA and African
Renewable Energy Projects as well as develop knowledge sharing best
practices, and seeking innovative solutions for the accelerated update
of clean and cost-effective renewable energy technologies and give
workable/affordable solutions in these countries for their
transmission grid’s requirements, reducing their needs for costly fossil
fuel from distant sources.
Many of the MENA countries rely on diesel fuel & fossil fuel for a
large portion of their electricity generation, and diesel-fuelled
generation typically costs around USD 0.35+ cents per kilowatthour or more. With advancements in technology, expanding
markets, and economies of scale, the costs of renewable electricity
generation from wind and solar power plants have declined rapidly
in recent years especially since our new innovative PV Technology
enhances not only the life of PV panels up to 40+ years but
enhances the cell-efficiency and reduces the cost of the PV panels
as well. Consequently, renewable power options can usually
undercut the diesel-fuelled generating cost by a substantial margin,
saving significant sums of money that can be applied to needed
investments in education, infrastructure, and other development
priorities in these countries.
Our upcoming African PV Factory project for Solar Module
manufacturing based upon the production of the latest, Most
Innovative PV Modules, Research & Development, Installations,
and Energy Efficiency Enhancement industry projects are designed
to be financially profitable, technically feasible, and good for
investors, customers, staff, the community at large, and the
environment.
Objective
Many of MENA countries have significant wind and solar resources, as
identified in IRENA’s (International Renewable Energy Agency) Wind and
Solar Atlas. However, detailed measurements over the course of a year
or more are typically required to generate “bankable” data sufficient to
obtain a long-term investment for the construction of a wind power
plants or large PV parks. The seasonal and daily pattern of solar radiation
data of these countries will affect the amount of power that can be
generated from that site at different times and hence the revenues that
can be generated.
Goals & Solution
To establish a PV modules production factory by introducing a new
innovative, tested, and trusted PV modules technology known as BIPV
glass/glass modules, which has 40+ years life, is easy to clean, costeffective with more performance cell-efficiency, ideal for GCC and MENA
climate conditions.
To control constant quality and regular supply GETPower going to
establish an R&D-based modules production plant in one of the
suggested and selected countries like Tanzania, Kenya, Morocco,
Zimbabwe, or South Africa in the near future.
